According to the Beachcam website, young surfer Zion Brocchi passed away at age 12 after battling cancer.
The news of his death was shared by VĆ¢nia Brocchi, Zion Brocchi's mother, on Instagram. "At dawn that day, Zion rested. We accomplished his mission, a champion immortalized!" she wrote.
"An example of resilience, Zion Brocchi was beloved by the entire surfing community. His moving story left no one indifferent, so in recent years there have been many expressions of affection and compassion. Surfing was his great passion," Beachcam reports.
Born on August 7, 2013, in Costa da Caparica, Zion Brocchi grew up in the water and soon showed talent, standing out in several surfing competitions.
