Le Grand Tahiti

Video from mark brightwell

On the 27th of August 2011 approximately 5 years ago I jumped on a plane to capture footage for my first feature film RAW THE MOVIE. What I witnessed with the days to follow was the greatest surfing show ever located at the notorious Teahupoo in Tahiti.

Our boat was one of the first into the line-up as the harbour was shut down from Tahitian Police as conditions were too dangerous (or so they thought). Luckily for us our boat was coming from 2 hours away which would allow us to be picked up from the point and straight into the action.

This is the final section to the feature film RAW THE MOVIE which won Mark Brightwell best cinematography in New York. The film was directed and co-produced by Mark Brightwell and Cohan Banfield and released physically and digitally in 2012 through their distribution partners.
