"When we were kids, me, Tiago Pires and other locals imagined one day surfing that wave," tells Portugal's Ruben Gonzalez. "We were grommets, too afraid to make that challenge so we'd say to each other, Yeah! One day we'll surf that and make incredible barrels! That's the wave of the future."
