DEANO: PACIFIC AZUL

Meet 14-year-old Dean Vandewalle from Belgium, a country with just 70kms of coastline and one which isn’t necessarily famed for its surfing. 

Deano weighs in at a svelte 70 pounds and needs glasses to surf, he uses a pair of homemade prescription glasses which his dad constructed and which makes it even more impressive when you see his moves. 

Vandewalle’s surfing opportunity was blessed when at the age of seven his family moved to Costa Rica, from here every passing opportunity was spent in the water until he developed into the super-talented grom he is today.
