Throughout the series, the competitors will take each other on in both individual and team challenges, which will be centered around specific aspects of the water sport.

Every week there will be competitor eliminations — and at the end, there will only be two men and two women finalists left, who will battle for the male and female "Ultimate Surfer" titles. The winners will also be given an opportunity to compete on the World Surf League's Championship Tour.

Viewers will additionally be able to see the surfers take on Slater's state-of-the-art human-made wave.

"This is an unprecedented opportunity for two surfers (one man, one woman) to win an opportunity to compete against the best surfers in the world on the WSL Tour," Slater said in a previous press release. "This will put some of the best up-and-comers against each other in a more direct way to see who stands above the rest, and Surf Ranch is obviously a great venue to use for 'The Ultimate Surfer.' I'm excited to watch how they step up to the challenge."

The two-hour premiere will air on Monday, Aug. 23, and Tuesday, Aug. 24 (10:00 - 11:00 p.m. ET).

Anastasia Ashley Gets Nailed!

Anastasia Ashley is a professional surfer who spends almost all her time in a bikini on the beach or out in the water catching waves, or hanging ten or whatever they call it. The ocean is an amazing place but surfers are always at risk of becoming shark bait when they're out on the boards waiting for the right wave. What you're not expecting in a surf clip though is for another oblivious surfer to come along and shred your head.

While the surfer and model was out in the water with her camera, trying to nail the shot for fellow surfer Malia Ward, she ended up being the one nailed. The video has since gone viral, but we're all still wondering..is she ok?

Silvana Lima I'm too ugly for sponsors

Brazilian pro surfer Silvana Lima told the BBC that despite her success, she has a hard time getting sponsors because she doesn't look like a model.

“The surf-wear brands when it comes to women, they want both models and surfers," Lima said. "So if you don’t look like a model, you end up without a sponsor, which is what happened to me.”

It became such an issue for Lima that in 2014, the Vice World Champion created the campaign #FreeSilvana in order to raise funds to participate in surf competitions.

But pro surfer -- and model -- Anastasia Ashley told FOXNEWS that while Lima is blaming her lack of model looks, she maybe missing one key ingredient that has little to do with physical appearance – the “It” factor.

“I think sponsors are attracted to a total package which could be a combination of looks, talent, and personality," Ashley said. "So I think a lot of people mistake looks for getting ahead rather than charisma.”

Anastasia Ashley is one BUSY girl.

Shot by drone off the beaches of Cabo, Anastasia catches wave after wave so flawlessly that she has us dreaming of another life in which we all decided to become professional surfers.
Arguably equally well known for both her athletic achievements in the water and her stunning figure (have you seen those bikini-clad Instagram photos?!), it's awesome to see Anastasia back on her board perfecting new skills and testing the waters of shooting surf video with drones.
